There’s another level to this one … It’s not that corporations have an average lifespan this long (average is way smaller than human), it’s that for most corporations to reach the century mark requires finding ways to continually extract maximum resources over a very long time period. Unlike humans, it’s not a race against the clock where staying healthy will help extend your life. It’s that you have to become increasingly aggressive as you grow just to stay alive. I think it’s this distinction that causes their aims to often be fundamentally different than ours.
